    The museum hosts the popular Maine musical group, Roll and Go, for two free performances at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24. Part of the museum's Family Fun Days series, the performances also mark the museum's participation in the Kennebec Valley Chamber's Whatever Week Festival. The museum is open free of charge all day.**

  • Museum's Newest Exhibition Features Rare Maliseet-Made Blanket Coat

    The museum's newest exhibition, "Beyond Boundaries: The World of the Capote," features a remarkable man's winter coat, known as a capote, dating from 1842. On public view for the first time, the capote, with moccasins and matching leggings, shows beautiful porcupine quill embroidery and dyed moose hair tassels bound with tinkling cones. The exhibition will be on view through September 2017.
