Bug Maine-ia and Maine Earth Science Day

Two of Maine's largest science education events will once again bring fascinating people, bugs, and rocks together for lots of learning and enjoyment. Free admission all day for both events!

Bug Maine-ia will be held this year on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 9 am to 3 pm. Entomologists, environmental educators, foresters, and many others will be on hand to guide students and visitors through the big and tiny world of insects. Get up close and personal with some of the world's most fascinating insects at a live insect zoo and explore other displays that show the many fascinating ways that bugs affect our lives. Entomologists will also help students collect and identify insects found on the museum grounds (weather permitting).

Maine Earth Science Day is on the schedule for Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 9 am to 3 pm. Maine Earth Science Day presents hands-on activities, exhibits, and demonstrations that show how the products of the earth contribute to our economy, education, and enjoyment. Geologists, scientists, industry professionals, artists, and educators from throughout Maine will be at the museum all day to answer questions and provide information.
