The museum’s new publication, A Story of Maine in 112 Objects, is now available and for sale (just $39.95) at the Museum Store in Augusta and wherever books are sold throughout Maine.

Published by Tilbury House and edited by Museum Director Bernard Fishman, this groundbreaking book features 112 essays and hundreds of photographs that highlight the best of the museum’s collections – ranging from a walrus skull to a woman’s World War II welding outfit. Included as well is the fascinating story of the museum itself, founded in 1836 and dismantled and reborn no fewer than seven times!
