The museum’s newest exhibition, “Women’s Long Road – 100 Years to the Vote” opens Saturday, March 23. A special performance by the Maine Girl’s Chorus, special crafts for kids, and free admission all day highlight the opening.
“Women’s Long Road – 100 Years to the Vote” features historical photographs, stories about people, documents, and artifacts to explore the wide-ranging efforts by many women (and some men!) to gain the voting rights finally guaranteed in 1920 by the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Watch for more educational programs about women’s long road to the vote and related events throughout the year. The exhibit will be on view through January 25, 2020.
