Use of the Cultural Building Atrium
Unfortunately, the major renovation project means that the museum will not reopen until the early months of 2026.
As the museum’s reopening date becomes certain, more information will be available on the museum’s website. Find current details about the renovation project here.
The Cultural Building Atrium is the large shared space that provides an entrance-way to the Maine State Museum, Maine State Library, and Maine State Archives. In certain approved circumstances and under specific limitations, the atrium is available for use by groups as long as public access and egress are not affected.
If you are interested in use of the atrium, please review these Cultural Building Atrium Policies.. If your proposed use meets the policy’s criteria, please download and complete the Application to Use the Atrium Space and return it by email attachment to Maine.Museum@Maine.gov or mail it to Joanna Torow, Maine State Museum, 83 State House Station, Augusta, Maine 04333-0083 at least two weeks prior to the date you propose to use the space.
