Maine + Jewish: Two Centuries

The exhibition Maine + Jewish: Two Centuries opened at the Maine State Museum in September 2018 and closed in late October 2019. The presentation included approximately 200 objects and an equal number of images, plus video and audio elements, and two interactive displays. Various exhibit areas focused on geography, summer, holidays, life cycle events, language, food, identity, synagogues, barriers, work, and community. Artist Henry Isaacs generously granted the museum permission to incorporate the image of one of his paintings, “View to Mt. Desert from Islesford,” throughout the exhibition graphics.
