Malaga Island Descendant Laura Harrison Shares Her Family’s Story

The 2012 exhibition “Malaga Island, Fragmented Lives” marked the 100th anniversary of Maine state government’s eviction of impoverished, mixed-race residents from their homes on Phippsburg’s Malaga Island. Connections with Malaga Island descendants provided great inspiration before, during, and after the museum’s exhibition.
